Ante and Straddle

A play in which the player with the left of the retailer (the setting) puts in (usually) a piece before obtaining all the charts, and the player towards his left (the straddle) puts in two pieces. (Sometimes the retailer also puts in a piece.) The first player to have a choice on making a bet having then seen his charts is the player two positions with the left of the retailer. It is an old name for what now is called a play without visibility of two-blind man displacement. It is similar to lamp-shade and a play of straddle.
